My Mom has been at Doctor's Inn for 5 years now - she will be 100 years old in November. There are so many good things to say about Doctor's Inn. From the minute she joined as a resident there - everyone was so kind, understanding and helpful in the transition- not only for my Mom- but for us, her family. If you are reading this then you know this is not an easy decision, but I can assure you that our experience has been wonderful. My Mom's needs are met with great care, concern and promptness-- and of course with respect, kindness and love. The facility is beautiful and many activities and social events are hosted for the residents to enjoy. Knowing that my Mom is well taken care of, My Doctor's Inn has provided a sense of peace and security for me . ~ Donna E

My mother's been here for a couple of years, with dementia. The live music program (suspended currently due to covid) has been fantastic, with top quality performers - I go for my own enjoyment as much as to sit with my mother. The staff has been exceptional. The real test is I think what happens when family isn't there, and there have been several times I've stopped in unannounced and unexpected, and walked in to find staff sitting with my mother in her living room, going through her old photos with her, spending one on one quality time with her. With visiting 3-4 times a week for a couple years, I've never seen a staff member raise their voice or speak with anything other than kindness and patience and a smile to a resident - or to another staff member. ~ Audrey

My mom has been part of the My Doctor's Inn family for five years. Not only has my mom received excellent care in their memory care unit, but she is happy. Her needs are attended to by a loving and caring staff who are quick to help her in any way she needs. My mom has progressed from someone needing a watchful eye to someone who depends on others to care for her. My Doctor's Inn was the perfect choice when she needed a safe environment and it continues to be the right choice now that she needs more constant care. I love that not only do they look out for my mom's needs, they look out for mine. We have laughed together and cried together while facing the challenges dementia brings. We moved my mother-in-law into My Dr’s Inn several months ago from another facility and we are so happy that we did! The facility is kept very clean and the staff has been incredible from day one. From the administration, nursing, and care staff to the kitchen and maintenance staff everyone has been extremely professional, always understanding, and respectful of us and my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law has moderate Alzheimer’s and the staff has been amazing at helping to keep her as independent as possible while keeping her safe and meeting her changing care needs. We finally feel like we have found the place where she will be not only well cared for but respected so she can keep the dignity she deserves as her disease progresses. ~ Sandra E

Having worked in senior living for over 12 years, my siblings and I decided on My Doctor's Inn for my father who has moderate dementia. While no place is perfect, as I know from experience, this place comes very close. The staff is always friendly and kind, the building is so nice and homey and I feel at peace knowing my dad is well cared for. He is participating in activities, going out for lunch at times, and is able to have all of his needs met...haircuts, doctor visits, dental visits, etc. I feel blessed to have found this place where my dad is content and happy. I know how hard these caregivers work, and I appreciate and am grateful that there are people willing to care for our loved ones the way that they do. ~ Bernadette C

My mother has been a resident at My Doctor’s Inn since 2017. I am very pleased with the level of care that she gets from the staff. The staff members are very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. The overall environment is A plus. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering assisted living for a loved one. During COVID-19: This event has been very hard on us as a family and on my mom as a resident. My Doctor’s Inn has gone through great lengths to follow the proper protocol to keep the staff and our family members safe and involved with one another. I appreciate the kindness of the staff keeping us informed and coming up with ways to be involved at a distance. They had a Mother’s Day parade and Halloween activities that the residents could view from inside. Once again I would like to say thank you and keep up the good work while keeping our spirits up. ~ Laura B

I wish we could give 6 stars for My Doctor's Inn. Our mother feels like she is at a second home because of the friendly staff and all of the new friends she is making at the daily activities. Mom thinks that the meals are delicious. She really appreciates that when our father visits her that he has the ability to share a meal in the dining area with his wife. Mom has taken advantage of the hair salon and said that it made her feel refreshed after getting a new hair cut by a professional beautician. Finally there is a place that my semi-mobile mother can feel comfortable, receive rehabilitation and enjoy meeting new people. ~ M K

My Mother has been a resident at My Doctor's Inn for 4 1/2 years. We toured several facilities before making our choice. My Mom and our family are very happy with our decision because she gets the best of care and it's a great atmosphere. Numerous activities, events and dinners that family can participate in. I have always been impressed with the employees who are always welcoming and fun! Of course, the pandemic has limited visits and activities, but the staff has gone out of their way to keep the residents and the staff as safe as possible. 5 Stars for My Doctor's Inn! ~ Leonard L

My aunt loves it at My Doctors Inn. Everyone is very kind to her. She has made friends and she loves the entertainment. She said she had a few issues but when she reported them they were handled right away. No place runs 100% Efficiently however if your response to an issue is quickly address you feel like the staff cares and are concerned. That's what My Doctors Inn is a community that cares.Their customer service to the residents is A1!!! ~ Anne S

MDI has been great! I am responsible for taking care of my cousin while she rehabilitated from a nasty brain injury. The team at MDI was always so upbeat, super responsive to me (out of state care taker), and made my cousin feel comfortable while she was there. Would highly recommend for quality of care! ~ Allison H

From the moment we entered this facility forward, we have been treated with love and kindness.My fear level was off the charts and everybody here when out of their way to ease my fear. Every single person including the director assistant directors every staff member has been kind and respectful to both my brother and myself. In a time where my life was literally crumbling in around me the staff here made me feel I was at home and I was safe and they did the same for my brother I honestly can’t thank them enough. My brother tested positive for COVID-19 on December 8 they alerted me immediately we discussed his care the Doctor Who is a doctor they use at their facility is wonderful Dr. Stefan he immediately ordered medications one care pharmacy was kind enough to drive them and deliver them I believe within an hour my brother is doing very well he has only exhibited very mild symptoms which is nothing short of a miracle considering all of the medical issues that he has. They have been absolutely fabulous with taking care of him and making sure he stayed safe.I have been impressed with the way they’ve handled the situation yes they have had a few positive cases but they’ve managed it and kept to a minimum. ~ Michele C

The facilities and staff are excellent. My mother loved her room and the people that worked with her so closely. I love it here at My Doctors Inn. Everyone from the executive director Aida leasing director Nikki Front Desk receptionist Val and all the staff treats me well, like family all the Caregivers and Dietary staff ate Great!! I wouldn’t trade this place for anything ~ Andrew P

We looked for an assisted-living facility after our mother started having memory issues at her independent-living apartment. My Doctor's Inn has been wonderful for her, particularly the life enrichment activities. She enjoys the meals, and her private apartment is clean and bright. Recommended. ~ Kathy D

My elderly aunt was finished with her rehab, but still was using a walker, and was unsteady, and needed care 24/7, with her daily needs. She was “In between” her end of rehab, and going back to her home. Nikki arranged for her to come stay at My Doctors Inn for respite care. My aunt had physical therapy, medication management, meals, and assistance with her other needs. She became stronger, and was using the walker, but still, was walking around a lot more than she was in rehab, and was getting her strength back! She was also participating in the wonderful social activities that were offered, and even made a couple of new friends! I am so grateful all of the staff at My Doctors Inn and everything that they did to make sure that my aunt got the care she needed, and then, she was finally able to go home. I am firmly convinced it was because of the services that she received, which helped her to become independent and living in her own home again. Wonderful care, amazing and caring staff, and the assistance that she received, and knowing that there was going to be somebody there 24/7 if she needed someone. It really gave me peace of mind knowing that she was getting excellent care. I would highly recommend My Doctors Inn! This is the best place in the area for our Mom. She loves her apartment and the staff. They work hard to care for her and are very adaptive to changes in her needs. A great community! ~ Mark K

All of us siblings live out of state, so having our Mom in a great place was extremely important! I came and stayed in Michigan the first few months my Mom was at MDI, and was with Mom at MDI on a daily basis as she became accustomed to her new home. Being at MDI every day, I was able to observe the staff and the environment Mom was in with a close and critical eye. The activities were fun and stimulating for her, the live musical entertainers extremely talented (and seemed familiar with working with Seniors), and staff members were good natured and patient with all the residents. Rooms and public areas are kept clean, exit doors are secure (family members have fobs to let themselves in/out), and the residents get personal attention and care. One thing I want to note is that Mom's care and mental health is primary for the staff. For example, when us (4) siblings had a disagreement, the staff didn't "take sides" with one sibling over another but put my Mom's care and emotional state first. They also educated us on dementia and how important emotional stability is to our Mom's overall happiness for her remaining years and what we could do to foster and improve that for our Mom. Mom's care is foremost, I can call whenever I want and get 'behind the scenes' updates on how Mom is doing (Mom's memory of events isn't exactly 100%...), and living out-of-state, that's a great comfort! ~ Colleen M
